With the second semester starting, so has the Klein Cain softball and baseball team’s spring season, with both teams getting ready to hit off their first game of the season.
“I’m most excited to be able to play again after having our season cut short because of COVID, and we’ve been working hard and can’t wait to get back out there,” said infielder Logan Steinecke.
The 2021 softball season starts on Feb. 15 against Brenham High School at the Klein Cain Softball Field. After that, they also have five additional scrimmage games starting Jan. 30 against Kempner High School. These scrimmage games will not count against regular-season standings.
“I am most excited for this season because we have been working extremely hard and I think all the hard work is going to pay off,” said softball player Morgan Atkins.
With their season cut short last year because of COVID, this meant that they were able to get back out on the field and start getting ready for the 2021 season rather early. During this year’s season, the Klein Cain varsity baseball team has five scrimmage games with the first one against Paetow High school on Feb. 6 at the Klein Cain Baseball Field.
“The game that I can’t wait for is the Klein Oak game because of the rivalry against my friend,” Steinecke said.
