As we head into a new school year, both online and in-person students should heed new guidelines in regards to COVID-19 safety procedures. If you don’t know these new guidelines—well, this guide is for you!
To make the guide more comprehensive, we have implemented links throughout the article. So for any further questions, we recommend you check those out in addition to Klein ISD’s own guide. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, ask the district!
Online
- Make sure you download Zoom.
- Check whether or not you can access Schoology, Skyward, and your student Google account. Your user credentials should be the same as last year’s unless you requested a change.
- If you are in a video conference, make sure your background isn’t striking.
- Those who are online wanting to do on-campus instruction must wait until the end of the grading period.
- Be on time with assignments! Not turning them in may result in an absence for your class.
- If you either have symptoms of COVID-19 or are lab-positive, report your case to Klein ISD immediately.
On-Campus
- Masks are mandatory. So bring them! You won’t be allowed on campus otherwise.
- Thoroughly clean your area before leaving each class. This includes desktops you use.
- If you either have symptoms of COVID-19 or are lab-positive, report your case to Klein ISD immediately.
- Keep a distance of six feet between you and others at all times.
- Do not remove your mask to talk to others.
- Be aware of your surroundings. It is best to avoid anyone that may have symptoms of COVID-19.
- If you’re ever hesitant about on-campus instruction, you always have the option to change.
- Curious about the number of active COVID-19 cases in Harris County? Check here.
- If you ride the bus, wear a mask before you get on. If not, wear your mask before you arrive on campus.
- Under no circumstance should you touch your face or remove your mask in class.
- Do a daily check-up before going to school.
- For those who may have COVID-19:
- If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or feel sick, stay home.
- If you were recently exposed, stay home.
- If you are waiting for your test results to come back, stay home.
